The Principal QA is a domain expert, passionate about quality software and customer experience. Making use of their excellent domain and testing knowledge to address challenges of all levels (from Team Sprint to Engineering Strategy) to meet Delivery and Business goals in an efficient way.

To be successful in this role, you will have to manage a healthy balance between executing and acting as a thought leader for QA. This means contributing towards sprint success, whilst promoting alignment to evolving industry best practices and continually improving the QA approach across Giacom towards a Risk-Based testing philosophy.

What you'll be doing

• QA strategy and process development: Define and implement the overall QA strategy with focus on Risk-Based Testing.
• Test architecture and design: Lead the design and development of comprehensive test framework that includes: test plans, test cases, and reporting of results.
• Manage your individual contribution by keeping a healthy balance between contributing to the team's sprint success via test execution and remaining Principal responsibilities.
• Automation and tooling: Drive the adoption and integration of test automation tools and frameworks, ensuring efficient coverage and continuous testing.
• Mentorship: Mentor and provide guidance to QA engineers and developers in testing best practices, automation techniques, and quality standards.
• Cross-team collaboration: Work closely with development, product management, and operations teams to integrate testing into the software development lifecycle from the start.
• Quality metrics and reporting: Define, track, and report on key quality metrics, such as defect rates, test coverage, and performance benchmarks.
• Risk assessment and mitigation: Identify risks in software releases and develop strategies to mitigate them proactively.
• Test environment management: Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to ensure test environments are reliable, available, and accurately mirror production environments.
• Continuous improvement: Evaluate and implement new testing tools, technologies, and methodologies to continuously improve testing efficiency and product quality.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• The ability to work under pressure on multiple projects within project timeframes
• Experience of testing back-end systems, APIs and querying relational databases
• Experience of testing web applications
• Experience of coaching QA teams as a QA lead or similar
• Proven experience in defining SW Testing Technical processes based on tooling that supports maximizing Testers output and quality
• Experience of working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience of working using agile development methodologies
