We are growing and are currently recruiting for 3 manual QA engineers.
As a manual QA, it is your responsibility to uphold the quality of our software and customer experience through identifying and preventing defects from being introduced and ultimately that our software is fit for purpose.
What you'll be doing
Apply Risk-Based Testing principles to prioritize test effort. Contribute to team QA practices and follow established testing processes and standards.
Design and execute test plans and test cases for assigned features with increasing independence. Produce clear, well-structured test documentation and report results accurately.
Actively contribute to sprint delivery, completing assigned testing tasks within agreed timelines and communicating progress and blockers to the team.
Engage with developers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and translate them into effective test coverage. Raise questions and ambiguities early.
Track and report on testing progress, defect status, and coverage for assigned areas. Escalate quality risks to the Tech lead or Delivery Lead promptly.
Apply risk awareness during testing, seek guidance on broader risk mitigation strategies.
Work effectively within established test environments. Log environment issues promptly and escalate where they block testing progress.
Diagnose and investigate defects thoroughly, providing clear reproduction steps and impact assessment. Collaborate with developers on resolution.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Strong analytical thinking with a structured approach to problem-solving
Ability to analyze requirements and identify gaps, ambiguities, and edge cases early in the lifecycle
Knowledge of testing principles, including:
Black-box, White-box, Grey-box testing
Awareness of the ISTQB 7 testing principles and the ability to apply their intent in practical testing scenarios
Test design and execution capability, including:
Designing and executing test plans for moderately complex features
Creating structured, meaningful test coverage
Experience testing across multiple systems and layers, including:
APIs and back-end systems (Experience with Postman or similar is required)
Web applications across multiple browsers, devices, and environments
End-to-end flows involving integrated services and dependencies
Data validation using SQL or other database technologies
Billing and financial systems, with awareness of common risks
Experience writing clear, concise, and actionable defect reports, with a solid understanding of severity vs priority
