Software Engineer (C#)
Giacom are the only provider of Comms, Cloud, Hardware and Billing all through one platform.
Our platform connects technology resellers and service providers to the best IT, Comms and Cloud products and services so they can create brilliant technology solutions for UK businesses.
We are currently recruiting for a C# Developer who will be focused on supporting and evolving, ensuring a reliable and consistent customer experience. This role is primarily centered on production support, requiring ownership of incident resolution, root cause analysis, and defect remediation in line with agreed SLAs. The developer applies strong engineering knowledge and deep understanding of billing processes to diagnose complex issues and maintain stability across interconnected platforms.
To be successful in this role, you will balance hands-on support and targeted development with technical leadership within a Kanban-driven delivery model. This includes supporting the triage of incoming issues, prioritizing production defects based on impact, and maintaining service stability and continuity. You'll take ownership of solving reported incidents, finding root causes, and ship lasting fixes. You'll also make technical improvements, so the same problems don't come back.
What you'll be doing
Engineering contribution: Develop and maintain software components based on defined requirements, and deliver small technical improvements such as refactoring, dependency upgrades, improved logging, feature flags, and performance and observability enhancements.
System implementation: Contribute to system design discussions and implement solutions aligned with established architecture.
Manage your individual contribution: Deliver assigned tasks within sprint timelines, ensuring quality and reliability.
Development standards and practices: Follow coding standards, guidelines, and best practices defined by the team.
Problem-solving and debugging: Reproduce and resolve code defects from production and pre-production environments, and carry out root-cause analysis using logs, telemetry and Application Insights.
Quality and performance: Ensure code meets performance and reliability expectations, and improve stability by automating repetitive manual tasks and adding automated guardrails.
Release participation: Take part in the weekly release cycle and deliver hotfix releases when required.
Environment collaboration: Support deployment, integration and regression testing activities in UAT and Pre-Production environments, working closely with QA and other teams.
Collaboration: Work closely with feature teams, QA, incident management and product stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver solutions.
